Restore Your Vision with Advanced Presbyopia Correction in London

Are you struggling with blurred near vision or finding reading glasses increasingly indispensable? Presbyopia is a natural, age-related change that affects almost everyone from their mid-40s onwards. At Blue Fin Vision® Eye Clinic, Harley Street, London, we are proud to offer PresbyMAX® – an advanced laser eye surgery specifically designed to restore clear vision at all distances for those living with presbyopia.

What is PresbyMAX®?

PresbyMAX® is a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive laser eye surgery for presbyopia, harnessing the precision of the SCHWIND AMARIS laser system to gently reshape the cornea. Unlike traditional LASIK, which corrects a single focal point, PresbyMAX® creates multiple focal zones on the cornea, enabling sharp vision at near, intermediate, and far distances – all in a single, swift procedure.

Key features of PresbyMAX®:

  • Multifocal, bi-aspheric ablation profile for seamless vision at all distances
  • Central cornea optimised for near vision; peripheral cornea for distance vision
  • Smooth transition zone for stable and high-quality visual outcomes
  • Simultaneous correction of presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism

How Does PresbyMAX® Work?

PresbyMAX® utilises advanced laser technology to sculpt the corneal surface, creating distinct zones for near, intermediate, and distance vision. The procedure is fully personalised to your unique prescription, eye health, and lifestyle needs. The laser treatment itself is completed in just a few minutes per eye, with the majority of patients noticing a rapid improvement in near vision within hours and full adaptation within several weeks.

Benefits of PresbyMAX®:

  • Minimally invasive – no need to remove or replace the eye’s natural lens
  • Rapid recovery – most patients return to daily activities within a day or two
  • High patient satisfaction with over 12,000 successful procedures worldwide
  • Comprehensive correction for complex visual prescriptions

Who is Suitable for PresbyMAX® in London?

PresbyMAX® is suitable for a wide range of patients, including:

  • Individuals aged 45 and above experiencing presbyopia who wish to reduce or eliminate their reliance on reading glasses
  • Patients with presbyopia combined with myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (long-sightedness), or astigmatism
  • Those who have previously undergone laser eye surgery for distance vision and now seek near vision correction
  • Patients who have had cataract surgery but still require reading glasses

Your suitability will be assessed through a comprehensive evaluation by our leading surgeons at Blue Fin Vision® Eye Clinic, ensuring the best possible outcome for your vision.

The Morning After...

I've been waiting to hit the one month mark before writing this review because I wanted to feel out the full experience and road to recovery so I can give my best help and advice to people considering it all. I've been absolutely THRILLED with everything and particularly with choosing Mr Mfazo Hove as my surgeon.

Pre operation and consultation was attentive and all explained very well to me. He showed me a video which at the time I sort of thought I'd rather have not watched but on reflection I think it was valuable to really have me understand and know what's going on both during the surgery and just in my general decision making. He answered all and any questions and never felt rushed or like he was trying to get through a "process" as quick as possible.

The surgery went very well. He was confident and reassuring without pandering too much or giving too much weight to my nerves. It felt swift but safe. The operation was 20-30 minutes to my memory but that's just a guess. It was certainly fairly quick. I was very nervous inside and the operation is certainly peculiar and a little uncomfortable conceptually but physically it was painless and at worst there was mild discomfort with your eye being held open. None of the laser or flap removal was painful (I got LASIK).

Already post op I could see but with blurred vision and I found it far more comfortable to keep my eyes closed and rest them. I went to bed that night and woke up to already have impeccable vision. It was less than 12 hours later and I went in for my check up and was reading better than 20/20 on my right eye and at 20/20 on my left eye (or maybe the other way round but the point is it was bloody good!).

The weeks that followed were interesting because, probably partially to do with such exceptional early results, I had some frustrations with slight blurriness here and there. I went in to see Mr Hove and he reassured me that it was just to do with dryness and a surface issue. It was reassuring to be able to follow up with him in person and be sure and, as predicted, my eyes are now feeling really solid at the month mark.

Overall, I feel the surgery is somewhat of a miracle. Of course we just live in incredible times medically but conceptually the fact I've been afforded perfect sight at the age of 30 having been wearing glasses all day everyday for a decade is the stuff of miracles. Looking forward to my (probably) final checkup and thanking Mr Hove as I go on to hopefully enjoy my vision for years to come.

Would recommend - 5 stars!!
