What Happens at Chase Lodge Hospital
Surgery is micro-incisional phacoemulsification, which uses ultrasound to break up and remove the natural lens through a small incision. An individually selected ZEISS intraocular lens is then implanted. There is no laser-assisted step in this pathway.
The surgical component commonly takes approximately four to six minutes per uncomplicated eye in Mr Hove’s routine practice, within a hospital visit of around two hours.
Where both eyes are suitable, same-day bilateral surgery is performed as two completely separate sterile procedures.³
