Showering safely early on
The eye may feel slightly tender after the laser. Gentle care prevents soap and shampoo from aggravating the surface.
- Keep your face away from the direct shower stream.
- Close your eyes when washing hair and rinsing.
- If soap enters the eye, let clean water rinse it out without rubbing.
- Use lubricating drops afterwards if the eye feels dry or gritty.
- Pat around the eye gently with a soft, clean towel.
Returning to normal routines
Restrictions can usually relax after a few days as comfort improves. Always follow specific advice from your eye clinic.
- Normal shower routines are fine once soreness and light sensitivity settle.
- Avoid very hot, steamy bathrooms if they make eyes uncomfortable.
- Continue prescribed drops for the full course.
- Seek review if redness, discharge, or significant pain develops.
