PRESBYOND uses LASIK or surface laser techniques with a special profile for presbyopia. The level of pain is similar to the underlying procedure rather than the PRESBYOND pattern itself.
Comfort during surgery
Numbing drops and sometimes sedation keep you comfortable. You may feel pressure during suction and see lights but not sharp pain.
- PRESBYOND LASIK feels much like standard LASIK
- Surface PRESBYOND involves more healing discomfort, not more intra-operative pain
- Any sensation of pain is treated immediately with extra anaesthetic
- The laser step is quick, usually under a minute per eye
Recovery sensations
After PRESBYOND, eyes may feel dry, gritty, and light-sensitive. Pain is usually mild with LASIK and moderate for a few days with surface approaches.
- Simple painkillers manage discomfort for most patients
- Intense or worsening pain is rare and should be checked quickly
- Visual adaptation to blended focus is more noticeable than pain
- Regular lubricants improve comfort while the eyes settle
