In April 2026, Mr Mfazo Hove was invited as UK faculty at the HORIZON 2026 ZEISS APAC Ophthalmology Symposium and the Bridging Horizons UK-China Summit in Shanghai. Across three cities and five venues, he translated consultant-led UK presbyopia frameworks for delivery at Chinese scale, and returned with lessons that matter for UK refractive surgery now.

Blue Fin Vision® has been awarded two trophies at the AVA Digital Awards 2026 for “ZEISS IOLs – Through My Own Eyes with Dr. Hove,” the video documenting Mr Hove’s experience as both cataract surgeon and cataract patient. The full-length documentary earned Platinum, the competition’s highest honour, while the teaser – which has already surpassed 557,000 views on YouTube – received a Gold award.
