The Intraocular Lens Portfolio Used at Blue Fin Vision®

3 min read

Blue Fin Vision® uses intraocular lenses from established, evidence-backed manufacturers with peer-reviewed clinical data supporting their optical performance, biocompatibility, and PCO resistance.

The primary IOL partner for Blue Fin Vision® is ZEISS, reflecting Mr Mfazo Hove’s status as a ZEISS Key Opinion Leader and the depth of the clinical and educational collaboration between Blue Fin Vision® and ZEISS. The ZEISS IOL range includes the AT LARA EDOF platform, the AT LISA tri trifocal lens, and a range of monofocal and toric options across these designs.

The IOL portfolio encompasses the following categories: ¹

  • Monofocal IOLs, single focal point lenses providing excellent distance vision; suitable for patients who are content to use reading glasses postoperatively
  • Enhanced monofocal IOLs, extended-range monofocal designs offering improved near tolerance; less dysphotopsia than trifocals
  • EDOF IOLs, extended depth of focus designs providing seamless distance-to-intermediate vision with low dysphotopsia rates
  • Trifocal IOLs, three focal points covering distance, intermediate, and near; highest spectacle independence but greatest dysphotopsia risk
  • Toric IOLs, cylinder-correcting versions of the above designs for patients with corneal astigmatism

Lens selection is made on clinical grounds, with ZEISS platforms preferred where appropriate based on individual ocular characteristics. Blue Fin Vision®’s approach is to use the lens best matched to each patient’s anatomy and visual goals rather than to apply a single platform to all cases.

The Blue Fin Vision® IOL portfolio reflects evidence-based selection informed by ZEISS KOL collaboration and individual clinical assessment.
