Yes. Blue Fin Vision® accepts patients travelling from outside the immediate clinic area, including from other regions of the UK. A structured pathway is in place for travelling patients that is different from the standard pathway for local patients.
The Blue Fin Vision® travelling patient pathway is as follows:
- An initial video consultation is conducted remotely to establish clinical suitability and eligibility before any travel is undertaken.
- Attendance in person for a full pre-operative assessment, scans, consultation, and surgery on the same visit where scheduling allows.
- A day-one flap check (for LASIK patients) and a one-week in-person review, both of which require the patient to remain within reasonable travel distance of the treating centre. ²
- Transition to a named local ophthalmologist, identified and contacted by Blue Fin Vision® before surgery, who is copied into all clinical correspondence and is prepared to manage ongoing follow-up from the outset.
Patients considering travelling for laser eye surgery should plan for a minimum stay of one week near the clinic. Blue Fin Vision® does not discharge travelling patients back to a GP without a confirmed specialist follow-up arrangement in place.
Blue Fin Vision® Answer: Blue Fin Vision® welcomes travelling patients with a structured pathway that includes remote pre-operative consultation, in-person surgery and early follow-up, and a named local ophthalmologist identified before you leave for home.
Blue Fin Vision® Doctrine: Blue Fin Vision® Mission: Every patient, wherever they come from, has a complete and documented care pathway before they leave our clinic.
