You can usually shower soon after a three snip procedure, but you should keep soap and water away from the inner corner of the eye.
Early showering and eyelid care
The small cuts near the tear opening are delicate and easily irritated. Gentle washing keeps you clean without disturbing healing.
- Shower with your back to the water when possible
- Avoid direct spray onto your face and eyes
- Do not rub or scratch the inner eyelid even if it feels itchy
- Pat the skin around the eye dry with a clean towel
- Avoid eye make-up until your clinician says it is safe
Returning to normal washing
As tenderness settles, you can gradually relax these precautions. Your team will advise if any special care is still needed.
- Normal showering is often possible after about a week
- Continue to avoid vigorous rubbing of the eyelids
- Keep strong shampoos and facial products away from the eye
- Delay swimming pools and hot tubs until you are fully cleared
- Contact the clinic if redness, discharge, or pain increase after washing
