You can usually shower soon after PRESBYOND, but it is important to keep soap, shampoo, and direct water jets away from your eyes while they heal. This reduces irritation and infection risk.
First Week
Extra caution is needed during early healing.
- Shower with your eyes closed and avoid aiming the spray at your face.
- Do not rub your eyes if products or water get on them; instead, allow gentle rinsing and use lubricating drops afterwards.
- Avoid very hot steamy showers that may increase swelling or dryness.
- Pat the skin around the eyes dry with a clean towel rather than wiping.
Later Showers and Bathing
Restrictions ease as the surface strengthens.
- After about a week, or as advised, you can gradually relax precautions while still avoiding vigorous rubbing.
- Check separate guidance for swimming and hot tubs, which usually remain restricted longer.
- Continue your prescribed drop regimen exactly as directed.
- Report persistent soreness, redness, or blur after showering for assessment.
