YAG iridotomy recovery

YAG iridotomy creates a tiny hole in the iris to improve fluid flow in angle closure glaucoma. Recovery is usually straightforward although some people notice temporary blur or light sensitivity.

Right after the laser

Pressure lowering drops are often given before and after the treatment. The eye can feel slightly scratchy or ache for a short time.

Vision may look blurred while the pupil size changes. This usually settles within a few hours.

First days after treatment

Mild redness and discomfort are common but should improve quickly. Anti inflammatory drops help calm the eye.
