After brow lift surgery, the forehead and brow area usually feel tight, bruised, and swollen at first, then gradually become more comfortable and lifted.
First days after surgery
You may have bandages, swelling, and some numbness around the forehead and scalp. These changes are expected and usually improve over the first one to two weeks.
- Pain is often mild to moderate and controlled with tablets
- Bruising can extend around the eyelids and cheeks
- The forehead and scalp may feel numb, tingly, or itchy
- Keep your head elevated on extra pillows when resting
- Use prescribed ointments and drops exactly as directed
Appearance and comfort over time
As swelling settles, the brow position becomes more natural and comfortable. Scars usually fade slowly over several months.
- Most people feel much less tightness after two to three weeks
- Numb areas can take months to improve and may not fully recover
- Make-up can usually be used on healed skin when your surgeon agrees
- Contact the clinic urgently if you develop severe pain, spreading redness, or fever
- Attend all follow-up visits so healing and brow position can be checked
