Can I do housework after PRESBYOND?

< 1 min read

Most light housework is safe relatively soon after PRESBYOND, but dusty, strenuous, or splash‑prone tasks should wait until your eyes have healed further. Planning ahead helps protect your results.

Light Household Tasks

Gentle chores can often resume early.

  • Activities such as light cooking, tidying, and simple washing up are usually fine when you feel comfortable.
  • Take care to avoid splashes of hot oil, detergent, or cleaning products getting into your eyes.
  • Use lubricating drops if your eyes feel dry during close work.
  • Take short breaks, as near focus and clarity may still fluctuate.

Heavier or Dusty Chores

Higher‑risk tasks are best delayed.

  • Vacuuming, deep cleaning, DIY, and gardening can stir up dust or involve bending and lifting; leave these for at least several days or as advised.
  • When you restart, consider protective glasses and, if appropriate, a mask.
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes if they feel gritty; use drops instead.
  • Seek review if you develop significant redness, pain, or blurred vision after heavier housework.
