A temporal brow lift, or lateral brow lift, focuses on elevating the outer part of the eyebrow and temple region. It is often chosen when lateral droop causes hooding without major central brow descent.
Technique
Short incisions are made within the temporal hairline, and the lateral brow and forehead tissues are lifted and secured. This selectively raises the tail of the brow, opening the outer upper eyelid.
- Can be combined with upper lid blepharoplasty for comprehensive rejuvenation
- Less invasive than full coronal lift with shorter scars
- Particularly useful in younger patients or those with mild ptosis
- May be performed with endoscopic assistance or as a limited open procedure
Results
Recovery is usually quicker than with extensive lifts, though bruising and swelling still occur. The effect is more subtle and focused laterally.
- Scars generally hide well in the hairline
- Asymmetry or under‑correction may require touch‑up in some cases
- Good pre‑operative analysis ensures the lift harmonises with forehead and eyelids
- Longevity varies with skin quality, muscle activity, and lifestyle factors
