PRESBYOND is designed for presbyopic patients with low to moderate myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism within standard laser correction ranges.
Typical refractive ranges
Exact limits vary by platform and corneal thickness.
- Myopia generally up to around -8 dioptres
- Hyperopia commonly up to around +4 dioptres
- Astigmatism usually up to about 3 dioptres
- Combined spherical and cylindrical error must leave adequate residual stromal thickness
- Prescription should be stable over at least 12-24 months
When prescriptions may not be suitable
High or irregular errors need alternatives.
- Very high myopia or hyperopia requiring excessive tissue removal
- Irregular astigmatism or keratoconus, where laser could worsen shape
- Eyes better served by ICL or lens replacement due to extreme prescriptions
- Rapidly changing or unstable refraction
- Comprehensive corneal mapping is essential before deciding
