What age is suitable for PRESBYOND surgery?

< 1 min read

PRESBYOND is generally suited to adults in the typical presbyopic age range, often from the mid‑40s through the early 60s.

Preferred age band

Presbyopia should be established.

  • Mid‑40s or older, once near‑vision difficulties are noticeable
  • Clear lenses without significant cataract
  • Stable prescription over 12-24 months
  • Corneas still healthy and appropriate for laser
  • Enough remaining visual potential to benefit from blended vision

When other options fit better

Age extremes shift the balance.

  • Younger than 40, where standard laser or ICL may be more appropriate
  • Older than mid‑60s with lens opacities, where lens replacement is preferable
  • Very early presbyopes who cope well with simple readers
  • Patients whose age‑related ocular disease dominates visual limitations
  • Decisions made case by case rather than by age alone
