# Computer use after blepharoplasty surgery

Computer use is usually possible within a few days of blepharoplasty, but early sessions can feel tiring. Swelling, bruising, and dryness make it important to build up gently.

## Short sessions at first

Heavy lids and ointment may blur vision and make focusing harder. Adjusting your workstation can reduce strain.

- Start with short sessions, gradually increasing as comfort improves.
- Use larger text, high contrast, and good ambient lighting.
- Position the monitor slightly below eye level to ease lid effort.
- Use lubricating drops regularly to relieve dryness and watering.
- Avoid strong overhead lights that cause glare.

## Looking after your eyes and lids

Good habits support healing while allowing you to work. Overdoing screen time too early can worsen swelling.

- Follow the 20-20-20 rule to rest your eyes frequently.
- Apply cold compresses after screen use if swelling increases.
- Do not rub or pull on the eyelids.
- Discuss persistent strain or blur with your surgeon or optometrist.
- Consider a phased return to full-time computer work.
